Mitsubishi Tritons are used to pave the way for gas pipeline works in Sarawak

In the wilderness of Lawas, Sarawak, a fleet of 100 Mitsubishi Tritons are deployed to transport workers of Samling Group around rough roads to carry out work for their gas pipeline industry.
Site Manager Mr. Lee is one of the workers that pilot a 2019 Mitsubishi Triton. He describes Lawas as “Triton Territory” as the terrain gets less friendly the further you venture out. Since he and his team are required to travel approximately 100 to 200 km off-road daily, a Triton is the perfect workhorse.
“We as the forerunners will carry out the exploration and pave the way for everyone else. We drive through all types of road conditions from muddy, slippery, river crossings, mountain roads and terrible road conditions,” says Mr. Lee.
Lee added that because of the Triton’s smooth drive, light weight and the Easy Select 4WD, it is easier to control than other pick-up trucks when traversing the challenging terrain of their work area.
Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia launched the Mitsubishi Triton in early 2019 with 3 variants to offer. In November, the 2020 Mitsubishi Triton Quest was introduced as the entry level truck to the line-up along with the updated 2020 Mitsubishi Triton Adventure X that came complete with 360-degree camera, built-in DVR, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to offer.
