We get it, the most popular car in Malaysia this year is probably the 2020 Proton X50. It had a headline-grabbing six-month waiting list (that Proton is working on rectifying), but it seems the 2020 Mitsubishi Xpander one ups that with an eight-month waiting period.

Quartz White Pearl - best Xpander colour?

With over 3,700 bookings collected in its first month of sales, there's no denying Malaysians love the Xpander. However, it seems there's a bit more love for the white one as the waiting list affects only customers who specified theirs in Quartz White Pearl.

To get around this, customers are given the choice to either maintain their selection, or switch to Diamond Black Mica, Red Metallic or Titanium Grey Metallic. These colours have a minimal waiting period - still definitely shorter than the X50's!

Interestingly, this corroborates with our earlier report that says that white is by far the world's most popular new-car colour, so much so that 38% of all cars sold globally this year were white.
