For a little less practicality but a whole lot more style, the facelifted BMW X4 is the answer to your compromised needs. The G02 generation X4 joins the refreshed X3 range in a sole X4 xDrive30i M Sport trim that’s priced from RM 398,800 and is locally assembled (CKD).

Nothing new under the hood as the same B48 2.0 litre turbocharged inline-four found in its sibling X3 xDrive30i M Sport does the same 252 PS and 350 Nm of torque. It hits all four wheels via the familiar eight-speed auto feeding the xDrive system.

Visually, changes are minor with some reflectors along the rear bumper that has also undergone some revisions. Most of the attention for the X4 is usually reserved for that coupe-esque roofline anyways.

However, unlike the M Sport suspension in the X3, the X4 here gets adaptive suspension.

Step into the headroom-challenged cabin and you’ll be greeted by the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Following the X3, the X4’s infotainment also runs on the BMW Operating System 7 via the larger 10.25-inch screen with the updated BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant that incorporates a wider scope of voice commands.

Driver assistance systems are quire similar in the form of the standard Lane Change Warning, Land Departure Warning and Front Collision Warning with Brake Intervention (AEB). Of course, the Parking Assistant and Reversing Assistant are present as well.

You can have your X4 in a shade of Alpine White, Piemont Red, Phytonic Blue or Carbon Black, which will see the interior wrapped in Vernasca Black leather. If you’re a fan of some colour in the cabin, you can opt for the Vernasca Tacora Red leather upholstery but it’s oonly applicable for the Alpine White and Carbon Black exterior shades.

As mentioned earlier, the BMW X4 xDrive30i facelift is priced at RM398,800 and is tacked on with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty as well as the free scheduled service package. The price is inclusive of SST but is a hefty RM 23,000 pricier than the pre-facelift model.
