Tesla Malaysia has open its order books for the facelifted 2025 Model Y also known as the "Juniper".
As listed on their website, the 2025 Model Y Juniper will be offered in two variants at the outset:
The Model Y Standard Range features a single-motor Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) setup, delivering a WLTP range of 466 km. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and is priced at RM 195,450. This is RM 4,450 more than the outgoing model, which was priced at RM 191,000.
For those seeking enhanced performance and range, the Model Y Long Range comes with a dual-motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system. It offers a WLTP range of 551 km and achieves 0-100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. The price is RM 242,450, representing an RM 4,450 increase from the previous model, which was priced at RM 238,000.
The outgoing Model Y's prices were last adjusted in April 2024.
As for optional upgrades, the Enhanced Autopilot package is priced at an additional RM 16,000 bringing Autopilot capabilities, Autopark, Dumb Summon, and Auto Lane Change whilst the Full Self-Driving (FSD) package with enhanced Autopilot will set you back another RM 32,000
What's new in the 2025 Model Y Juniper?
Little is known about the updates beneath the surface of the Model Y Juniper, but recent reports suggest it features an improved suspension system and an enhanced sound system. These upgrades were introduced in the Model 3 Highland facelift, and given the shared platform between the two models, itโs likely Tesla has adopted a similar approach for the Model Y.
Bringing both exterior and interior updates, the 2025 Model 5 Juniper includes a Cybertruck-inspired cross-car front and rear light bar now. Along the flanks, there are redesigned wheels in 19- and 20-inch sizes and a rear diffuser improve aerodynamics and efficiency.
The cabin will also be quieter now, thanks to double-layer glass and a UV-reducing panoramic roof.
Commonplace features introduced in the Model 3, such as ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, and second-row display for passengers are also available in the New Model Y. Customers can now easily press a button to adjust the position or fold down the rear passenger seats.
Notably, preliminary photos also suggest that Tesla has retained conventional signal stalks, unlike the Model 3 Highlandโs somewhat controversial steering wheel-mounted controls.
For Malaysia, the Launch Edition of the Model Y Juniper also introduces exclusive features, such as a striking Glacier Blue exterior colour (an additional RM 7,500), a custom launch badge, and puddle lights.
Unique door sill plates with the "Launch" wordmark and inside, the Launch Edition showcases an all-black vegan suede trim complemented by silver accents on the charging console and floor mats.
The 2025 Tesla Model Y Juniper is now available for order via Tesla Malaysiaโs official website.
