In Germany, Opel has announced its new all-electric version of the Zafira Life, the Opel Zafira-e Life. The 9-seater electric MPV produces 100 kW of power (136 hp) and 260 Nm of maximum torque from the electric propulsion system.
The electronically controlled maximum speed of 130 km/h enables Autobahn cruising while preserving range. The Zafira-e Life is able to tow trailers with a maximum capacity of 1,000 kg.
Customers can choose between two battery sizes: 75 kWh (330 km range) or 50 kWh (230 km range). The Zafira-e Life is equipped with regenerative braking.
Using 100 kW of DC fast charge, it takes around only 30 minutes for the 50 kWh battery to reach 80 % state-of-charge (about 45 minutes for the 75kWh battery).
Depending on the market and infrastructure, the Zafira-e Life features either a three-phase 11 kW or a single phase 7.4kW on-board charger as standard. The order books are due to open this summer.
