Today, Volkswagen Malaysia launched the 2020 Volkswagen Passat R-Line alongside the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace and the Volkswagen Arteon R-Line. At an estimated price of RM 210,000, the Passat R-line is now available for booking. The locally-assembled Volkswagen Passat R-Line is rivalled by other D-segment saloons like the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord.

Price 

The R-line variant is a step above the Elegance Variant.

Difference with the Passat 2.0 Elegance

An added feature in the Volkswagen Passat R-line is the DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control), that gives you the freedom to adjust the way the car handles. XDS is also offered in the Passat R-line. XDS is an electronic differential lock for improved traction.

The R-line gets a more aggressive bumper, R-line badges, and bigger 19" Verona alloy wheels.

On the inside, the difference between the R-line and Elegance are subtle.

R-line treatment on the inside include Nappa carbon-style black leather seats, R-line steering wheel, black headlining, and aluminium sports pedals. Trim patterns are slightly different.

The 2.0 TSI engine is carried over from the Passat Elegance, producing 190 PS of maximum power and 320 Nm of maximum torque. Power is sent to the front wheels only via a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox (wet clutch).

Open for booking, the Passat R-line's estimated price is between RM200,000 and RM210,000. The Passat R-line is Volkswagen’s saloon that combines a spacious cabin with agile handling.
