BMW Malaysia launched the new 2021 G30 BMW 530i facelift (LCI) in Malaysia a couple of days ago. The model is locally-assembled (CKD) at BMW’s Kulim plant.
Two variants are available at launch, namely the 530e and the 530i, but we’re focusing on the latter. The 530i is the current range-topping variant in BMW Malaysia's 5 Series line-up.
The G30 BMW 530i LCI is priced at RM 384,941 (on-the-road, without insurance and SST, with extended warranty and service package). The SST-exempt price is valid until 31-December, after which the model will be priced at RM 395,800.
Compared to the pre-LCI model (RM 372,061 without SST, RM 382,800 with SST), prices of the LCI model have increased by about RM 13k.

The biggest differentiator are the new headlights. Compared to the pre-facelift’s LED headlights, the facelifted 530i now gets BMW Laserlights, with simpler L-shaped light signature.

Headlights aside, the 530i LCI also gets a resculptured front bumper, though you’ll need to park the cars side-by-side to tell the difference.
Moving towards the rear, the most obvious difference are the new LED tail lights, which now features a bolder-looking lighting pattern.
Less obvious is the restyled rear bumper, as it gains two small diffuser-like pieces on the bottom half.
Rounding off the exterior are the new Style 845M alloy wheels, replacing the pre-LCI’s Style 664M wheels. Both wheels are 19-inch units.
As for the interior, changes are a bit more subtle. Out goes the 10.25-inch infotainment display, now replaced by a larger 12.3-inch unit.
Other less noticeable improvements include rearranged steering wheel control buttons, a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a new gloss black trim for the centre console.
The new infotainment system also includes support for Apple CarPlay, with a one-time fee of RM 1,299.
The current turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine, codenamed B48, is carried over from before. In the 530i, the engine outputs 252 PS and 350 Nm, delivered to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Like the pre-facelift model, the G30 530i LCI includes the Driving Assistant package, encompassing features like Lane Departure and Lane Change Warning, front collision alert with brake intervention (AEB), rear collision prevention and crossing-traffic warning. There’s also the Parking Assistant Plus feature for automatic parallel and perpendicular parking.
It also adds Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop&Go function.
