Toyota Motor Thailand has officially launched the new (XV80) 2025 Toyota Camry today, marking its debut in the Kingdom. This makes Thailand the second market to introduce the refreshed model, following Singapore.
Although the XV80 carries a new model code, itβs more of an extensive facelift of the outgoing XV70 generation, bringing significant updates beyond just aesthetic changes.
Three variants have been introduced for the Thai market, all featuring the 2.5-litre hybrid HEV powertrain. These include the HEV Smart at THB 1.475 million (~RM 188k), HEV Premium at THB 1.659 million (~RM 211k), and HEV Premium Luxury THB 1.809 million (~RM 230k), meaning prices are unchanged the outgoing XV70 Camry in Thailand.
As before, the XV80 Camry will be locally-produced (CKD) in Thailand, for export across the larger Asia-Oceania region.
Under the hood, the 2025 Camry continues to be powered by the 2.5-litre Dynamic Force Hybrid THS II setup, combining a 2.5L, 4-cylinder gasoline engine (188 PS, 221 Nm) with an electric motor for a total output of 227 PS. This is mated to an E-CVT automatic transmission, driving the front wheels.
The battery has been changed from nickle-metal hydride (Ni-MH) to a lighter 1.006 kWh lithium-ion unit.
Built on Toyotaβs TNGA platform, the XV80 Camry also features a retuned suspension for sharper handling compared to its predecessor.
The Camry showcases a bold new design, taking inspiration from the Toyota Crown with its Hammerhead front design, along with a revamped bumper and grille. Other exterior features include 18-inch alloy wheels and a panoramic glass roof.
Inside, the XV80 offers 8-way power-adjustable seats, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 9-speaker JBL sound system depending on variant. Notable conveniences include a Qi wireless charger, digital instrument cluster, head-up display, and voice command system.
On the safety front, the Camry comes with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) 3.0, which includes:
- Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection
- Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
- Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
- Lane Tracing Assist
- Road Sign Assist
