The current-generation T6 Ford Ranger has been around since 2011 and has received two facelifts throughout its lifespan, once in 2016 and the other in 2019.
With the typical lifespan of pick-up trucks hovering around the 10-year mark, the time for the T6 Ford Ranger to retire is nearing.
Ford Thailand just dropped this video on their YouTube channel, teasing the imminent arrival of the next-generation Ford Ranger, as well as showcasing how Ford put the next-gen Ranger through a number of gruelling tests.
These tests include driving the next-gen Ranger through a mud course, desert, rocky hill, snow, and general off-roading.
But that’s not all – this teaser footage also gives a glimpse at the next-gen Ranger’s redesigned front-end, which clearly draws inspiration from its larger sibling, the Ford F-150. In fact, it does resemble the digitally-rendered version that surfaced back in May 2020.
Design cues aside, some outlets have claimed that the next-generation Ford Ranger will get a revised powertrain line-up, including a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) with 267 PS and 680 Nm.
Sources also indicated that Ford will debut the next-generation Ranger by the end of 2021, before gradually introducing the model in more markets starting early 2022.
