According to Thailand vehicles sales data for June 2022, the Honda City which is constantly fighting against the Toyota Yaris Ativ (Vios’ Thai Eco Car twin) for the position of the Kingdom’s best-selling B-segment sedan every month slipped to fifth place.

With 770 units sold that month, it’s the lowest sales figures recorded for the Honda sedan in the Kingdom so far. Leading the segment is the Yaris Ativ with 1,517 units which accounts for 24.6% market share that month.

Slotting between the Yaris Ativ and the City are the Mazda 2 Sedan (1,094 units), the MG5 (1,004 units), and the Nissan Almera (939 units).

It might be an achievement for Mazda, MG, and Nissan to outsell Honda’s popular sedan but they might need to hold the celebrations since overall the City still holds the title as Thailand’s most popular B-segment sedan for the first half of 2022.

Between January and June, 10,714 units of the Honda City were sold in the Land of Smiles, and this was followed closely by the Toyota Yaris Ativ with 10,648 cars.

Meanwhile, the Mazda 2 Sedan (7,511 units), MG 5 (7,044 units), and Nissan Almera (5,654 units) occupy the third, fourth, and fifth positions respectively.
