No more fakes, here are official pics of the 2020 Proton X50! 01

Been waiting with bated breath, Proton X50 fans? Well, the wait is over as Proton has finally released official photos of the much-awaited B-segment SUV this morning.

We're sure it's very welcomed, especially since news of the car's media preview is due to take place next Tuesday.

Proton released a set of three pictures, and as we can see, it keeps some details as seen in the Merdeka day teaser - especially the red detailing on the grille.

It doesn't look much too different than the Geely Binyue it's based on, but that's to be expected. Just don't expect it to look like the Lynk & Co. 06 and all's good!

While specifications are yet to be officially announced, the Binyue it's based on features a 1.5-litre, turbocharged three-cylinder engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic that's good for 177 PS and 255 Nm.

And good news too for those who love their interiors funky - it's two-toned, and also features rear air-conditioning vents.

Prices are yet to be announced but it's expected to be below RM 100k - essentially less than the Proton X70 but more than the Perodua Aruz and it's expected to make its debut in October.

We'll be heading to its media preview on 15-September, so watch this space for more details!
