Earlier this week, Porsche Malaysia, represented by Sime Darby Auto Performance, announced that for the first time ever, the Porsche Cayenne will be produced outside of Europe, with local assembly (CKD) to start in Kulim.
Prices start from RM 550,000, and deliveries will begin by March 2022. Not only that, buyers of the CKD Porsche Cayenne can also opt for the Exclusive Manufaktur Package, Porsche’s own customization programme.

Previously, the CBU Porsche Cayenne was imported from Bratislava, Slovakia, and had prices starting from RM 665,000 (with Premium Package).
Porsche Macan to remain on sale, CBU sourcing unchanged
The reduced price of the Porsche Cayenne brings into question of whether the Porsche Macan, which had a starting price of RM 439,351, imported CBU from Leipzig, Germany, will remain in the local line-up.
We say ‘had’ because the Porsche Macan is in the midst of transitioning over to a new 2022 facelift model, which Porsche Malaysia have confirmed will be launched in Malaysia in the first half of 2022.

So the short answer is yes, the Porsche Macan will remain on sale and no, there will be no CKD Porsche Macan, at least not in the near-term.
Porsche Malaysia have confirmed that its CKD plan is now limited only to the Porsche Cayenne. So you can put rumours of a CKD Porsche Macan to rest.
No plans for a CKD Porsche Taycan
Porsche Malaysia’s answer also dispelled rumours of a CKD Porsche Taycan (or Taycan Cross Turismo), which is now imported CBU from Zuffenhausen, Germany, and will remain so in the near-term.
Prices of the Porsche Taycan now starts from RM 584,561 while the Taycan Cross Turismo starts from RM 645,209.
Although Budget 2022 has proposed for EVs to be made tax-free, the proposal has yet to be gazetted so Porsche Malaysia, like all other companies selling EVs, have to yet to announce a revised price for the Taycan and Taycan Cross Turismo.
