Proton Cars Egypt has just introduced the 2021 Proton Saga in Egypt, days after the model was seen at dealer lots.

Three variants are offered in Egypt, namely the 1.3 Standard MT, 1.3 Standard AT, and 1.3 Premium AT. As the name implies, all three variants are powered by a naturally-aspirated 1.3-litre (1,332 cc, not the Pakistan Saga’s 1,299 cc unit) petrol engine that does 95 PS and 120 Nm, hooked up to a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual.

Safety equipment include twin airbags, ABS, EBD, and Brake Assist. Unlike the Malaysian-spec cars, the Egypt-spec Saga lacks front parking sensors and stability control. Even the range-topping 1.3 Premium AT does not get ESC.

While the Egypt-spec Proton Saga lacks stability control, it does offer a multi-mode air-conditioning blower and a heater – both of which aren’t available on the Malaysian-spec car.

In Egypt, the 2021 Proton Saga is priced from EGP 166,900 (~RM 43k) for the base model, before topping out at EGP 202,900 (~RM 52k) for the range-topping Premium variant.
