Prospective owner - ready your wallet. Yes, it’s singular for a reason - Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur today unveiled the one-off Aston Martin AMR Malaysia Edition, built to commemorate Merdeka next month.
Purists beware though - as much as it carries the AMR moniker, it’s not part of that 200 car run. There’s no seven-speed manual or carbon-ceramic brakes here, which are standard fitments on its racier sibling.
That doesn’t mean it’s not fast though, it still keeps the 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 that ensures it has the bark to match the visual bite.
Speaking about visuals, the Vantage shows its AMR aspirations through its Vibrant Lime Essence and carbon-fibre detailing that complements the Arizona Bronze colour. The yellow and black theme extends to the interior as well.
Other than these subtle colour differences, it really isn't any different from the usual Vantage.
Going for RM 678,000 before duties and options, you best be quick and get in touch with Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur if you want it. Lots of pops and bangs for your buck, with the spec sheet showing electronically adjustable front seats, adaptive dampers and an infotainment system as standard.
For the rest of us, we’ll just live vicariously through Adrian’s walkaround.
