Owner Review: Niche and Chic - My 2012 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro

2012 Audi A4, B8.5, RM76800

Reasons why I bought this car(purpose):

I bought this car as my weekend car or for a long distance trip.

Car Selection Process

• I had a budget of RM 80,000
• Models that I have considered include: Honda Civic, Toyota Altis

I wanted to trade in my 2015 Ford Ranger Wildtrak with a sedan car that priced below RM80k.First I was considering buying either a new Toyota Altis or Honda Civic but the price range was beyond my budget.

So I casually browse mudah website thinking what I should get instead.I somehow bumped into this beautiful car that is on sale and I thought the spec is really premium but with a reasonable price.I contacted the car dealer, set up an appointment to check the car and bought the car. Yes it was that easy. lolTo me for a weekend's car I feel this car suits me because it has the beauty, luxury and the performance.

User Experience

• I have already done 15,000 km.
• My average fuel consumption is 8.9km/L.

In my personal opinion, I think this car is a really good car and fun to drive. It is a really fast car and it does make heads turn when you drive in a crowded area. When you drive on the fast lane of the highway people do give way even though you're barely speeding. I haven't encountered any serious maintenance issues (thankfully) with this car. So far only normal oil changes and replacing wear and tear parts.

Pros of my car

-looks beautiful
-luxury interior
-the price is good
-respectable car brand/model

Cons

-fuel consumption is quite high. not suitable for daily use if you are on budget.
-the suspension is quite lowered. I need to be careful at speed bumps.
-the maintenance could be high if the car gets into a problem.
-potential chick magnet.

Summary:

I think it is worth my money to get this car. It is a high spec A4 variant and it is not easy to find it on sale. If I am not mistaken the price when it was sold back in 2012 was above RM300k. To be able to get it at a quarter of the price is really unbelievable. Of course it is missing some new features like reverse camera, up to date MMI and new fancy design dashboard but it doesn't feel like an old or outdated car at all. You still feel proud to drive in it and the performance of the 2.0 engine and quattro performance is there.  

Lastly：

I can't recall any specific event but this car would definitely improve your self-image.If you want attention this car will get lots of it. People may be used to seeing BMW or Mercedes but I think Audi is quite a classy luxury car.
