Parliament to discuss intent on takeover of highway concessionaires 01

The topic on whether the government will renegotiate the takeover of highway concessionaires will be raised at Parliament on 23 November 2020. The fate on whether we will see the abolishment of tolls on certain highways will finally be answered soon.

Earlier this year, the previous Pakatan Harapan government declared that they will not be selling Plus Highways. This meant that plans to abolish toll fares were cancelled, instead discounts up to 18 percent on toll fares will be implemented from February 2021 onwards.

But in August 2020, the government announced that they will be reviewing the 18 percent discount plan and the impact it will have on the National Privatisation Policy.

There isn’t a time in memory that doesn’t involve staring at cars. After discovering the excitement of watching Schumacher vs Hakkinen, Formula 1 became a major part of life. The love for cars and F1 ultimately led to a job with CAR Magazine. The untimely death of the magazine meant a hiatus from cars at lifestyle women’s magazine Marie Claire before another opportunity came knocking again.
