If you’re looking for a small SUV with some French flair, then turn your attention to the 2022 Peugeot 2008. The SUV is currently holding a party at the WapCar Auto Show Exhibition happening this weekend at Pavilion Bukit Jalil.

Launched earlier this year, the B-segment SUV goes up against rivals like the Proton X50, Honda HR-V, Toyota Corolla Cross, Subaru XV, and Mazda CX-30.

The 2008 definitely stands out in the sea of SUVs with its triple-claw vertical DRLs paired with full LED headlights and a single strip that stretches to the lower half of the bumper. The most prominent design feature is the massive frameless front grille that resembles the nose of a lion.

Head to the rear and you will find that the triple fang theme continues in the taillight design. Wheels are 17-inch items wrapped with 215/60 profile tyres.

On the inside, the 2008 is entirely black with a carbon fibre pattern running across the dashboard. The driver gets a 10-inch fully digital instrument display and a compact steering wheel.

Taking centre stage is a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display that supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The entertainment system is hooked up to 6 speakers.

On the safety front, the 2008 is equipped with six airbags and, for the first time in Malaysian-spec Peugeot, ADAS. The ADAS includes:

• Active Safety Brake (AEB)
• Active Lane Keeping Assist
• Blind Spot Monitoring
• Driver Attention Assist

Other equipment includes High Beam Assist and Visiopark1 which gives drivers a 180-degree view of the rear.

Powering the 2008 is a 1.2-litre Puretech 3-cylinder turbocharged engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels. The engine produces 130 PS and 230 Nm. 

The 2022 Peugeot 2008 comes to you locally-assembled (CKD) from the Stellantis plant in Gurun, Kedah, and priced at RM 131,103, price is with SST and valid from 1-July-2022.

As mentioned, the 2022 Peugeot 2008 is now on display at the WapCar Auto Show Exhibition happening from 1- to 3-July-2022 at the Piazza at Pavilion Bukit Jalil.
