Perodua Ativa derivative model in the works, what could it be? 01

There’s no denying the popularity of the Toyota Raize and Daihatsu Rocky (Perodua Ativa to us) over in its home market in Japan. In 2022 alone, Toyota sold 83,620 units of the Raize, while Daihatsu managed to sell 22,223 units. Combined, the Rocky and Raize sold 105,843 units.

Perhaps in a move to keep the Rocky and Raize at the top-20 position in the sales chart (remember that the models were launched in late-2019), Japanese publication Mag-X recently reported that Daihatsu is working on yet another Rocky/Raize/Ativa-derivative model.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1685525140735-0'); });

Not much about said derivate model is known at this point of time, but it will almost certainly be underpinned on the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA), just like all recently-launched Daihatsu models.

Closer to home, Daihatsu’s local partner, Perodua has introduced a number of DNGA-based models, including the aforementioned Ativa, Alza, and Axia. But, new models aside, Perodua still has a few models that are due for replacement, like the Myvi, Bezza, and Aruz.

Which Perodua model do you think would be replaced in the near future?
