The Dallas County Sheriff Office is currently facing an unusual, and rather massive, dilemma following a viral video of 2 police cars drag racing on one of Dallas’ most popular drag strips.
Two deputy sheriffs from Dallas County, Texas are currently facing charges for unauthorised drag racing with their Dodge Charger patrol vehicles on the popular drag racing strip Yello Belly in Grand Prairie, Texas.
According to the Sheriff Office, they had no knowledge of the drag race until they saw the viral videos of the cars charging off into the distance (pun intended).
While actions like this are easily punishable, the Dallas County Sheriff Office found themselves rethinking their decision to dish out any punishments for the two deputies, as the video has been receiving positive attention from the community.
And at this time of turmoil when law enforcements are viewed in a bad light, any positive reactions from the community is a point in favour of the police force. And many were quick to agree that the race was a bonding moment between the community and law enforcement.
People across social media are currently enraged that the two deputies were even under investigation for their actions, calling the news “ridiculous” and commending the deputies for their actions.
