Post-SST, the 2022 Proton Persona now gets a price bump of between RM 2k to RM 2.5k depending on variant.
This represents an increase of between 4 - 5 percent when compared to previous SST-exempted prices.

The most prominent exterior changes are the redesigned front bumper and grille, LED headlamps, newly designed 16-inch wheels, and black roof depending on the variant.

Changes were comprehensive on the inside too, featuring a new floating style infotainment display, digital AC and newly designed leather seats.
Similar to the Iriz, Proton dropped the manual variant for the Persona too, thus offering just 3 CVT-type automatic variants now.

All variants of the Persona continued to be powered by the familiar 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder engine (109 PS, 150 Nm), albeit now offered with an ECO mode for improved fuel economy.

The Persona MC2 was launched when locally-assembled cars (CKD) were still exempt from the Sales and Services Tax (SST).
