The first-ever BMW XM is officially launched in Thailand, priced at THB 14,899,000 (around RM 1.89m). 

The front of the BMW XM is defined by its split headlights, an illuminated ‘Iconic Glow’ kidney grille, and continuous contour lighting. The 23-inch M light-alloy wheels in star spoke come as standard.

It gets Adaptive LED headlights and the high-beam assistant automatically switches high beams on and off when there is oncoming traffic or a vehicle in front of the car.

The BMW XM is powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that’s supplemented by a 197 PS/280 Nm electric motor, producing a maximum combined output of 653 PS/800 Nm. An 8-speed automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels via the M xDrive AWD system.

The BMW XM accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, and to a top speed of 270 km/h.

The M Hybrid button on the centre console is used to select one of three operating modes, including a fully electric mode at speeds of up to 140 km/h and over a maximum distance of 98 km in the NEDC standard. This is thanks to the 29.5 kWh high-voltage battery mounted in the car’s underbody.

The M Sport differential enhances vehicle performance by distributing driving power between the rear wheels, while the Adaptive M Suspension Professional is said to provide sporty handling without compromising on comfort.

Inside, the cabin gets the M treatment with M Interior Trim Finishers ‘Carbon Fibre’, M Leather steering wheel, and M seatbelts. The sculptural headliner has a three-dimensional prism structure with photo mount-style border and 100 LED units for illumination.

Ambient lighting, four-zone automatic climate control, active seat ventilation and massage function in the front seats, head-up display, and the 1,475-watt Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System come as standard. 

The BMW Live Cockpit Professional with a 12.3-inch Control Display runs on the latest BMW Operating System 8.

As for advanced driver-assistance features, the Driving Assistant Professional with Active Cruise Control featuring the Stop&Go function and Parking Assistant Plus to make manoeuvring this behemoth a little easier.

Closer to home, BMW Malaysia opened its order books for the BMW XM back in October last year, which carries an indicative price starting from RM 1.4 million.
