It's here! Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP), guardians of Porsche in Malaysia, has pulled the wraps of the 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3. Customers can choose from the Porsche 911 GT3 or the 911 GT3 with Touring Package (at no additional cost). Prices start from RM1,766,244 with SST exemption.

As with any Porsche GT car, the engine is the centerpiece. The 911 GT3's naturally aspirated, 4.0-litre flat-six engine delivers 510 PS and 470 Nm, while revving to 9,000 rpm. Choose from either a 6-speed manual, or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. 0-100 km/h is dusted in 3.4 seconds. Top speed? 320 km/h.

Staying true to its motorsport-derived genes, the 911 GT3 inherits elements directly from its racing siblings. For the first time, the car features a double-wishbone front suspension layout with specific geometry and calibration, allowing for sure-footed agility on the racetrack.

The car’s sophisticated aerodynamics with swan-neck rear wing mounting and striking diffuser are taken from Porsche's racing program, achieving 50 percent more downforce than before. The manually-adjustable rear wing and diffuser can also be set to increase downforce by up to 150 percent to achieve higher cornering speeds.

The racing genes of the 911 GT3 are evident inside the cabin too. GT3-specific instrument cluster features a central rev counter, which goes up to 10,000 rpm, flanked by two high-resolution 7.0-inch displays, which present information like tyre pressure, oil pressure, oil temperature and fuel tank level at the touch of a button.

Also standard is a 10.9-inch touchscreen display featuring the latest Porsche Communication Management (PCM) and Porsche Connect Plus. Porsche Track Precision App is also available, helping owners improve lap times by providing detailed driving data, live displays and video analyses.

As with Porsche cars, customisation is central. Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur enables customers to spec their 911 GT3 with items like a lightweight roof made of exposed carbon fibre, exterior mirror tops made of carbon, darkened headlamps and tail lamps. Seatbelts and trim can also be customised to almost any colour of choice.

With the 911 GT3 Touring Package, the most obvious difference is the omission of the fixed rear wing of the regular 911 GT3. In its place is an automatically-extending rear spoiler to generate downforce at high speeds while maintaining a more understated aesthetic.

Of the difference between the 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 with Touring package, SDAP CEO, Christopher Hunter, had this to share:

“While the 911 GT3 makes for an ideal Sepang companion for the active community of trackgoing Porsche owners here in Malaysia, those who prefer to experience the dynamic qualities of the GT3 in a more understated fashion across longer journeys can go for the Touring Package which transforms the GT3 into a more road-oriented grand tourer (GT).”
