Over the weekend, unofficial specifications of the Proton X90 emerged on social media. The Proton X90 is Proton’s upcoming 6-/7-seater D-segment SUV.
When Proton first previewed the X90 in late-March, they provided preliminary specifications, including variant count and powertrain details.
As a brief recap, the Proton X90 is set to be Proton's first-ever hybrid model. Powering the X90 is a turbocharged 1.5-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine mated to 48-Volt mild-hybrid (MHEV) system. Combined system output is 190 PS and 300 Nm, sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
According to the unofficial specifications uploaded on The Ajerul’s Facebook page, all variants of the Proton X90 would be fitted with full LED headlights, 12.3-inch infotainment system, and reverse camera.
The entry-level 1.5 TGDi BSG Standard variant is a 7-seater variant that gets 18-inch alloy wheels and fabric seats.
Stepping up to the Executive variant, it adds Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), power tailgate, leatherette seats, ventilated front seats (driver’s side powered), and a 360-degree view monitor.
Equipment for the Premium variant includes the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite, which bundles features like autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise control, there’s now the addition of Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Rear Collision Warning (RCW), and even Traffic Sign Information (TSI).
The latter is able to “read” speed limit signs and adapt the X90’s speeds to match the speed limit – a feature that’s usually reserved for way more expensive cars.
The Premium variant also offers larger 19-inch alloy wheels, Nappa leather seats, powered front passenger seat, wireless charger, and Auto Park Assist.
As for the top-spec Flagship variant, the unofficial spec sheet mentioned that it adds a panoramic sunroof, front passenger seat “Boss” switch, and crucially, second-row captain seats in place of the usual bench-style seats. As such, the Flagship variant is the only variant that offers a 6-seater config.
Like its smaller siblings, the Proton X50 and Proton X70, the unofficial specifications revealed that the Proton X90 would be offered with 6 colours: Snow White, Armour Silver, Jet Grey, Cinnamon Brown, Ruby Red, and Marine Blue.
