You can find art in any aspect of life. That’s the beauty of it. Cars are often likened to art in motion; like how Twinkie from the Tokyo Drift franchise referred to the blue and orange Nissan Silvia S15 as the Mona Lisa.
We’re no art connoisseurs but who are we to argue.

A little closer to home though, Proton has taken to opening its own gallery at its Centre of Excellence (CoE). Dubbed the Gallery of Inspiration, the move is part of the marque’s rebranding exercise that was put into motion back in 2019.
The gallery will be open to public every Monday to Friday from 8.30am – 5.30pm. It lays out the journey of the brand and as such comprises several zones. These zones showcase Proton’s history, inclusiveness with stakeholders in Malaysia’s automotive industry, domestic and global network, as well as current and future technologies in an integrated display that utilises virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR).

While taking in the works you can also have a drink at their first Proton Café outlet.
While Proton has always had a collection of historical models that it produced, these works of art will now be integrated into the gallery to tell a deeper story.
Customers that visit the Crystal Showroom to view, test drive and hopefully book the latest Proton models can spare a little time to take in the gallery.
“We invested substantial resources on the Gallery of Inspiration and will update the information as Proton adds more milestones and models to its portfolio. As for the name, it is our hope that visitors will be inspired by our story, and it ignites a spark that sets them off on their own journey regardless of their field of interest. Of course, it also ties in with our slogan of Inspiring Connections and helps to strengthen the brand story and messaging with our customers,” enthused Roslan Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of Proton Edar.
