It’s one of the quickest SUV in its segment, although it does not feel like it due to the smooth CVT characteristics. As tested, 0-100 km/h sprint takes just 8.9 seconds.

Braking performance of the Honda CR-V 1.5 TC-P

Ratings - Honda CR-V's performance and ride comfort, high marks for engine performance 02

Braking performance is just a tad above average in the Honda CR-V, taking 40.1 metres to come to a standstill from 100 km/h. The segment’s average braking distance is 41 metres.

Suspension of the Honda CR-V 1.5 TC-P

The ride is on the softer side as expected from an SUV and the suspension soaks up road imperfections well. But at higher speeds, the ride quality deteriorates as the suspension struggles to cope with undulations.

In the corners, the CR-V feels slightly cumbersome as it reacts slowly to the weight shifts. Rivals like the Mazda CX-5 and Volkswagen Tiguan does a better job in this aspect. Even the Proton X70 handles better.

Cabin noise level of the Honda CR-V 1.5 TC-P

The Honda CR-V has pretty good straight-line performance, one of the quickest in its segment. However, its handling leaves a lot to be desired. Upside is the suspension deals with road irregularities well at city speeds. Sound insulation could be better, especially when compared to the Proton X70.

All in all, a comfortable SUV that is fast on the straights. Here's a breakdown on the driving performance and comfort:
