Reverse invasion? Vietnam's homegrown brand VinFast to penetrate US with VF e35 and VF e36 EV SUVs

At next month’s Los Angeles Auto Show, Vietnamese manufacturer VinFast will debut the VinFast VF e35 and VF e36 – both of which are EV SUVs.

The smaller VF e35 is a D-segment SUV, while the VF e36 is a larger E-segment model. According to VinFast, both SUVs feature a comprehensive ADAS suite, encompassing features like Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Collision Mitigation, Driver Monitoring, Automatic Parking, and even Intelligent Vehicle Summoning.

Both the e35 and e36 feature a two-motor set-up, allowing for an all-wheel drive configuration. The total output is 408 PS and 640 Nm. The e35 gets a 90 kWh battery, while the e36 gets a larger 106 kWh battery. 

The e35 has a driving range of up to 402 km, while its larger sibling is said to be able to return up to 549 km out of a single charge.
