Shortly after putting the 2022 Chery Omoda 5 into showrooms in China, the Wuhu-based company has its sights set on export markets as spyshots of a right-hand drive (RHD) unit have appeared.
From these spyshots, it appears that RHD versions of the Chery Omoda 5 will get a slightly different centre console compared to the Chinese market model.
Compared to the Chinese market Omoda 5 with its piano black finishing, the RHD one gets a simpler-looking centre console. In the spot where a Qi wireless charger is installed on the Chinese market Omoda 5, the RHD one gets a storage compartment instead.
Also different is the position of the cup holders. Whereas in the Chinese market Omoda 5, the cup holders are positioned in front of the gear shifter, but moved to behind the shifter in the right-hand drive unit.
These spyshots also seem to depict a slightly different door trim compared to the Chinese market car.
Interestingly enough, Chery sort of previewed this interior before the Omoda 5 made its debut, in the form of the cabin rendering shown below.

The 2022 Chery Omoda 5 has been earmarked for Malaysia from the very start, though don’t expect it to arrive so soon.
Before the Omoda 5 reaches Malaysian shores, Chery will debut the Tiggo line-up first. The Tiggo range of models, including the Tiggo 4 Pro, Tiggo 7 Pro, and Tiggo 8 Pro are expected to arrive here later this year.
