BMW has released details of the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants of the G70 2023 BMW 7 Series, which are the 750e xDrive and M760e xDrive. The latter effectively replaces the G12-generation BMW M760Li with a 6.6-litre V12 engine.

Both the 750e and M760e are powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine with a 197 PS/280 Nm electric motor sandwiched in between the engine and the 8-speed automatic transmission. Drive goes to all four wheels via the xDrive all-wheel drive system.

In the 750e, the straight-six mill produces 313 PS/450 Nm and results in a combined output of 489 PS/700 Nm. The engine in the M760e on the other hand, makes 381 PS/520 Nm and gives it a combined output of 571 PS/800 Nm.

0-100 km/h acceleration in the M760e takes 4.3 seconds, while the 750e takes 4.9 seconds. Top speed of both is capped at 250 km/h.

Both have an 18.7 kWh (usable capacity) battery pack mounted under the floor with a maximum AC charging rate at 7.4 kW via a Type 2 connector. All-electric range (WLTP) for the 750e is claimed at 78 - 87 km, and 77 - 85 km for the M760e.
