![Sarawak's fastest public EV charging station now open; 2 180 kW DC chargers in Kuching 01]()
Sarawak has received its first electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Kuching, as a result of the joint collaboration between Sarawak Energy and Petronas' Gentari, reports New Straits Times.
Located at Kuching's ICOM Square, the station is equipped with three charging points: a pair of which comes with 180 kW DC fast charging capability.
Access to this EV charging station is open 24 hours a day, all week long, and it will be on trial all throughout September. Users will be able to find and use the station via Setel.

Earlier this year, Gentari signed two strategic collaboration agreements (SCAs) with Sarawak Energy and SEDC Energy. Part of these entail the building of more EV chargers, in addition to pursuing green energy, such as hydrogen.
