While our neighbours welcome the all-new generation, Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC) is only just teasing the arrival of the new 2022 Ford Ranger facelift to our shores.
The Ford Ranger facelift was launched a year ago in Thailand featuring a new trapezoidal front grille, black alloy wheels, and black trim pieces. The truck bed also adds a power roller shutter that will neatly cover up the pick-up’s bed.
Other than that, the Ranger facelift will remain largely the same as it carries forward the same 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo engine that delivers 213 PS and 500 Nm. The engine is still mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Safety equipment is also unchanged with offerings like AEB with vehicle and pedestrian detection, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning and Assist.
Note that these features listed were available on the Wildtrak facelift launched in Thailand in November 2020. And now begs the question, there is already an all-new generation Ford Ranger, is this Ranger Wildtrak teaser really for the facelift or just a special run-out model before SDAC launches the all-new generation?
