The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB has been caught undisguised in Indonesia, hinting that the model will be launched there very soon.

Thanks to rarecarind’s Instagram page, we can see that Indonesia will get the GLB 200, powered by a 1.33-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that does 163 PS at 5,500 rpm and 250 Nm from 1,620 rpm to 4,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Codenamed X247, the Mercedes-Benz GLB is positioned between the Mercedes-Benz GLA and GLC. The GLB also marks the first time Mercedes-Benz is offering its compact SUV with a three-row seating option.

The Mercedes-Benz GLB also rides on the same MFA-II platform that underpins the W177-generation A-Class, V177-generation A-Class Sedan, as well as the H247-generation GLA.

Like other MFA-II-based models, the GLB is also fitted with the latest Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system, as well as Mercedes me connectivity services.

Considering that the Mercedes-Benz GLB will be launched in Indonesia soon, a launch in Malaysia could follow soon after, as it is imported from Mercedes-Benz plant in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
