The Proton Iriz Active that was once a concept car will be turned into a series production model real soon. Spyshots of the purported Iriz Active without camouflage have surfaced, seemingly suggesting that Proton is preparing to introduce a SUV-fied variant of the Iriz real soon.

Like the concept car, the spied units feature fender extensions, a revised rear bumper, and decorative (read: faux) roof rails. Compared to the regular Iriz, the purported Iriz Active also gets different wheel design, presumably larger 16-inch units (current Iriz wheel sizes range from 14- to 15-inches).

Apart from the Iriz Active, these photos from our friends at Funtasticko also depict a different Iriz variant. This particular Iriz’s rear-end receives a red stripe that cuts across the rear bumper piece, while the wheels also appear to be different. The rest of this Iriz appears to be the same as the current model, at least from the rear and sides.
Barring exterior changes, the upcoming Iriz MC2 is also set to receive a revised dashboard design, replete with a floating style display and new air vent design. The grainy photo also suggests that the Iriz MC2 could be getting digital air-conditioning controls.
What remains to be known is whether Proton has replaced the mediocre Punch-sourced CVT with the Hyundai-sourced four-speed torque converter automatic.
