Spied: Haval Jolion all covered up in Thailand, to follow after H6 01

Haval’s Thailand adventure has only just begun with their plant in Rayong starting production along with sales of the long-awaited Haval H6. However, recent spyshots show that there could be another model joining the H6 in the Kingdom.

South African-spec shown, guess calling it "Jolion" wouldn't sell there

Underneath all that camouflage wrap is the Haval Jolion, also known as the Haval Jolion in some markets. We deduce that based on the design of the taillights which look similar to the Jolion.

Aside from the rear shot, we can see a glimpse of the interior but we can only spot a floating infotainment screen. Will it come with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay just like on Australian-spec models?

Even though the Jolion looks similar to the X70-rivalling H6, it is actually 136 mm shorter. It is built on the same L.E.M.O.N platform as theƒ H6 and the Ora Good Cat.

Could the Jolion be the next Haval model to be launched?

When Haval’s parent company, Great Wall Motors (GWM) announced its arrival in Thailand in February, the company unveiled a slew of models including the Ora Good Cat, the Haval H6, and the GWM Pao.

The sprawling Rayong plant, where the Haval H6 and GWM Pao will be built

It is a very ambitious plan indeed. Taking over the former GM plant is the first step and then there is also the plan to turn Thailand into GWM’s ASEAN hub. The Haval H6 Hybrid made its global debut at the Bangkok International Motor Show in March and will be launching very soon in the Kingdom.

Closer to home, GWM’s local representative has been pretty quiet up until a few months ago when we covered exclusive spyshots of some of its line-up on Malaysian soil. Among the models featured include the Ora Good Cat, the Haval H6, the GWM Pao, and the Jolion.

However, only time will tell whether these models will be launched here. With MCO 3.0 in effect, perhaps the Chinese company’s local reboot will be put on hold for a while.
