A heavily camouflaged Lynk & Co SUV was spotted on public roads in China. Reports have surfaced that this could be the brand’s flagship luxury SUV.
Lynk & Co, the lifestyle automotive brand under Geely Auto Group, have access to Volvo’s technologies. Hence its range of cars all uses Volvo’s platform and powered by Volvo engines.
The unnamed SUV is said to be built upon the SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) platform which underpins the Volvo XC90 and XC60. This leads us to believe that this will be a more luxurious and premium SUV than the models that came before.
Chinese media have reported that the new Lynk & Co SUV measures 4,950 mm in length, 1,950 mm in width and 1,750 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,980 mm. Which puts it about the size of the XC90.
Since the XC90 is offered as a 7-seater, it is likely that the new SUV would be also offered with a similar seating layout.
Expect the new SUV to wear the Lynk & Co family face and adopt the same minimalistic interior layout. Powertrain options should include the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol in Volvo’s T5 tune as well as a plug-in hybrid.
