Slightly more than two years after Proton introduced the improved Proton Saga, one that we raved about in the past, it looks like the popular A-segment sedan would be receiving yet another update.
At a glance, this white Proton Saga looks like any other Saga on the road, but upon closer inspection, there are subtle differences.
Look closer and you’ll notice that this Saga wears the new circular Proton logo, first seen on the CKD Proton X70, hiding behind the thick layer of tape. This particular Saga also gets front and side skirts, alongside different wheels. Even the mirror caps are finished in black – something that’s not found on regular variants of the Saga.
Could this be yet another update for the venerable Saga, or is Proton cooking up a sportier variant?
As a refresher, Proton introduced the refreshed Saga back in August 2019, giving its entry-level sedan new looks and crucially, swapping out the Punch-source CVT transmission with a Hyundai-sourced four-speed torque converter unit.
All variants in Malaysia are powered by a naturally-aspirated 1.3-litre engine that outputs 95 PS and 120 Nm, mated to the aforementioned automatic or a five-speed manual.
The Proton Saga has been exported to numerous countries, including to Kenya, Pakistan, Egypt, and Nepal.
