Now, it appears that the Toyota Fortuner could be next in line to receive the GR-Sport treatment, as spyshots of this camouflaged SUV surfaced in Thailand.
This Fortuner’s camouflage covers up all the important details, but zoom into the sides and you’ll spot red brake calipers – items usually reserved for sportier models. Whether or not these red brake calipers offer better stopping performance is yet to be seen.
As with other Toyota GR-Sport-branded models, the Fortuner GR-Sport is expected to feature a number of variant-specific enhancements, such as bodykit, wheels, and even paint job. The GR-Sport theme also continues inside, as it should receive stuff like red accents and GR-Sport emblems.
Considering that GR-Sport models sit one rung below the full-blown GR models, powertrain options should remain unchanged. In Malaysia, the updated Fortuner can be had with three powertrain options, with the most powerful 2.8-litre turbodiesel unit outputting 204 PS and 500 Nm.
In Malaysia, prices of the Toyota Fortuner facelift range from RM 167,357 to RM 203,183.
