Well ahead of its official debut, spyshots depicting the next generation Toyota Yaris have surfaced on social media.

Seen here is the all-new fourth generation Toyota Yaris, based on Toyota’s GA-B platform, a derivative of its modular TNGA platform that is aimed at B-segment cars.

Unlike the current Toyota Yaris, whereby different regions had their own version of the Yaris (North America, Europe, and Asean have their own versions), we expect Toyota to introduce the Yaris across all regions as one model, much like the new Toyota Camry.

Further cementing this suspicion is the fact that Toyota is currently performing road tests on the all-new Yaris in Thailand, as shown in these spy photos.

As for us, we understand that UMW Toyota Motor has plans for GR Sport versions of the Vios and Yaris, which will be parked under its new GR Garage umbrella of sporty models. We’re hoping that the eventual GR Sport version of the Vios and Yaris to feature some mechanical upgrades, not just cosmetic (read: bodykit and wheels) enhancements.
