The new 2020 Subaru XV facelift has officially launched in Japan featuring a new Plasma Yellow Pearl colour, a new front end, and new feature called e-Active Shift Control for mild hybrid variant. Sales in the country are expected to start in October 2020.

From the front, the XV now sports a new front grille and a redesigned front bumper while the rear remains largely the same. It also gets new aluminium 17-inch or 18-inch wheels. The highlight of the exterior changes is the introduction of a brand-new colour known as Plasma Yellow Pearl.

Engine improvements include a new adaptive shift-control that Subaru knows as e-Active Shift Control. The new shift-control is only available on the e-boxer mild-hybrid variant.

Other than that, Subaru has also retuned the XV’s suspension to improve the suppleness and sportiness of the SUV.

For the interior, Subaru has improved the interior with the inclusion of soft-touch materials in various places while the seats can also be upgraded to come upholstered in leather.

Safety improvements include the new Front View Monitor to help widen the driver’s field of vision in situations with poor visibility.

The camera on the front-end will project a 180-degree view of the XV onto the top monitor inside so drivers will get a clearer view around them so manoeuvring out of a parking lot or a junction would be easier.
