The 2020 Ford Ranger Thunder is a more handsome Ranger Wildtrak we hope to see in Malaysia
Ford has just unveiled the new Ford Ranger Thunder – a kitted-up Ranger based on the popular Ranger Wildtrak, exclusive for the European market.
Separating the Ranger Thunder from the regular Ranger Wildtrak is new Sea Grey colour, exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels and Ebony Black finishing on the front grille, rear bumper, skid plates, fog light surrounds, and door handles.
Furthermore, the Ranger Thunder also gets red highlights on the front grille and sports bar, as well as Thunder emblems on the front doors and tailgate.
Inside, the Ranger Thunder gets Ebony leather upholstery with Thunder red embroidery. Like the exterior, the interior also gets a dash of red highlights, including red stitching on the steering wheel, seats, and instrument panel. The Ranger Thunder also gets red-illuminated scuff plates.
Mechanically, the 2020 Ranger Thunder is identical to the Ranger Wildtrak, featuring a 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel engine that does 213 PS and 500 Nm, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Ford says that the Ranger Thunder is limited to just 4,500 units. Deliveries of the Ranger Thunder is expected to start in late summer 2020.
As for Malaysians, Ford Malaysia will be live streaming the launch of the Ranger FX4 next month.
