The 2021 Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) is happening as we speak, and one of the cars on display that may pique the interest of Malaysians is the 2021 Kia Carnival. The Kia Carnival in Thailand is fully-imported from South Korea.

The all-new 2021 Kia Carnival made its global debut in August last year. The latest fourth-gen Kia Carnival has grown in size; 40 mm longer than before at 5,155 mm, 10 mm wider at 1,995 mm, with a 30 mm longer wheelbase at 3,090 mm.

The Kia Carnival features an island roof design with blacked-out A- and B-pillars. The C-pillar, on the other hand, is specifically designed so it stands out.

Inside, Kia designers have created a new “Spatial Talents” concept for the cabin. The new panoramic-screen dashboard design is used to further emphasise the MPV’s spaciousness and futuristic ambience.

There is 627-litres of boot-space, even when the third-row seats are deployed. This is courtesy of the extended rear overhang and overall length.

Underneath the bonnet lies a 2.2-litre Smartstream diesel engine that makes 202 PS and 440 Nm of torque, paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Back home, the all-new Kia Carnival could be arriving this year if Kia Malaysia gets its bearings right.
