Though the Honda City Hatchback has been attracting the attention of Thai buyers ever since it was launched in late-2020, the model that it replaced is still on sale. That’s right, the Honda Jazz is still being sold by Honda Thailand and this Final Edition is essentially the last update given to a fairly popular hatchback.
Limited to only 1,500 units, the Jazz Final Edition comes with a very cool Sonic Grey Pearl colour paintjob that is also offered on the Civic Type R and the City Hatchback in Thailand.
The paintjob is only offered in 3 variants, the S+, V, and RS variants. It adds another THB 6,000 (RM 749) on top of the official sticker price.
However, aside from the cool paint job, everything else is retained from the regular Jazz. Our colleagues from our sister site, AutoFun TH, took a closer look at the Jazz’s last hurrah in the Kingdom at the ongoing 2021 Thai Motor Expo.
The unit that is on display at Honda Thailand’s stand is the RS variant which we never got in Malaysia. For the Thai market, the Jazz is assembled at Honda Thailand’s plant in Ayutthaya and besides the 3 aforementioned variants, the Jazz has a total of 6 variants.
The Jazz is powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that makes 117 PS (Thai-spec figures, the Malaysian Jazz makes 120 PS) and 146 Nm. This is paired to a CVT automatic gearbox with 7 virtual ratios.
The RS is the second-highest variant offered for the Jazz line-up and this Final Edition version is priced from THB 745,000 (~RM 93,000).
As mentioned earlier, the Jazz Final Edition only gets a new paintjob; no special badges or additional features like some of the ones offered in Malaysia. The RS comes standard with LED headlights and DRLs, black side mirrors, as well as 16-inch sport alloy wheels.
Inside, the RS gets sport fabric upholstery with orange threads, an automatic air-conditioning system with a touch control panel, and a 7-inch infotainment that supports Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
For safety, the Jazz comes with 6 airbags, Hill Start Assist (HSA), ABS with EBD, and a reverse camera.
Closer to home, the Honda City Hatchback is expected to arrive very soon and we have taken a spin of the V and hybrid RS variants around Sepang. Unlike in Thailand though, the Malaysian Jazz doesn’t appear to have an exclusive runout model, for now, but surely some will miss its tall shape.
