The US to get different Honda HR-V from us, like what you see?

Almost one year ago, we reported that all-new RV-generation Honda HR-V will not be offered in the United States of America; instead, it will be getting its own market-specific model.
Now, Honda has just dropped two sketches depicting the next-gen Honda HR-V for the US, previewing the model that will go on sale later this year.
Compared to the HR-V that’s sold outside of the US, the US-only model gets a very Ford-esque front-end, with a pair of presumably LED headlights and a large gaping grille. It also gets the Honda logo perched above the grille – something we’ve not seen on a Honda model.
Towards the rear-end of the US-only HR-V, the L-motif tail lights appear to be larger than the one we’ll be getting. Another design departure is the rear door handles, which are the regular type, as opposed to the hidden-type that the rest of the world gets.
No word on the US-only HR-V’s powertrain. The outgoing US-spec Honda HR-V is powered by a naturally-aspirated 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, mated either to a CVT transmission or a 6-speed manual. Whether or not the next-gen HR-V carries over this powertrain combination or not is yet to be seen.
