The next-gen, all-new 2024 Toyota Fortuner is reportedly in the works and Indian news outlet GaadiWaadi has seemingly unearthed a 'first-look' photo of sorts.

It's blurry, but there's enough details to tell that Toyota's next-gen workhorses will very likely follow the brand's recent design language as seen in the latest Land Cruiser, or even the latest Tacoma. Either way, an upgrade is due soon as the current-gen Fortuner debuted in 2015.
Though the origins of today's rendering is still unknown and how much of it will translate to reality is yet to be seen, one thing that's almost certain is its purported mild-hybrid (MHEV) powertrain.
Rally proven upgrades coming for the Hilux, Fortuner
Earlier this month, Toyota has confirmed that certain markets of the Hilux will be equipped with 48V MHEV technology beginning 2024, tacked on to the 2.8-litre turbodiesel engine. It's claimed to reduce fuel consumption by 10%, yet maintain the same power levels and more importantly, the same towing capacity.
Since the Hilux and Fortuner are pretty much the same car underneath the different skin, the same the powertrain going into the SUV is pretty much a done deal.
