This Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R attempts a Mustang impersonation

Take that headline with a pinch of salt. The Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R is superior to Ford’s pony car by all accounts, even the less than complimentary ones. Take for instance this pearl white Skyline leaving a car meet in Japan. The owner did what any other Ford Mustang owner would with dire consequences.

The Sports Car Meeting held at the Toba Observatory in Mie Prefecture saw some sweet JDM machinery gather for the new year. When it was time to call it a day, everyone did the obligatory roll out.

Much like misguided Mustang owners in the USA, the owner of this white Skyline R32 GT-R may have felt emboldened by the crowd gathered and decided to showboat a little. He floored it, overestimated the power of Godzilla and overcooked the subsequent corner. The car ended up oversteering into the curb; sending it into the air and into the bushes.

Judging from the lack of a third brake light coming on, the driver either hit the wrong pedal or was too stunned to react in time. Either way, the ending wasn’t so flattering.

Similar mishaps have struck the iconic Metropolitan Expressway Daikoku PA and Tatsumi PA meets that have taken over the internet, but this is one of those rare times the internet is blessed with a video of the unfortunate incident.

Adding insult to injury, the 25-year rule in the USA that makes cars like the R32 GT-R eligible for import there has seen the prices of these machines skyrocket; exceeding RM 360,000 or USD 86,000.

Judging from the video, the impact was harder than when your ex-girlfriend slapped you for spending more money on your car. Hopefully the chassis isn’t ripped and only the wheels as well as the suspension arms took the brunt of the impact.
