Currently, the price of an RFID sticker stands at RM 35, which cannot be installed inside the car. Instead, it is placed on either the external side of the windscreen or headlamps. The source said to FMT, “The problem is wear-and-tear. They can be damaged after several car washes.”

Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak waded into the RFID controversy yesterday. In his Facebook post, Najib questioned the RM 35 selling price for a RFID sticker as the cost of a passive RFID sticker is less than RM 1 per piece. He added that the RFID stickers should be given out for free or its price reduced to RM 5 per piece.
