As part of its 10th-anniversary celebrations, Grab not only announced several new initiatives but also opened the doors of its brand-new headquarters in Singapore.
Located in One-North business park in Queenstown, the 42,000 square metre office will be home to 3,000 staff. It will also house a research and development centre as well as a new GrabMerchant centre to help small companies thrive online. More on this later.

The nine-storey building that also houses the digibank team is just one of two headquarters the company has in the region. The other HQ is in Jakarta, Indonesia that serves as Grab’s regional innovation hub for small businesses.
Back to the new merchant centre, the centre will be the hub of Grab’s new initiative that will help businesses optimise their online presence and educate them on how to maximise Grab’s services such as GrabFood, GrabMart, GrabFin, and GrabAds for their businesses.
Known as the GrabMerchant centre, it will also help teach these flourishing businesses how to use other digital tools to grow. The initiative will provide one-on-one business consultation services for over 12,000 merchant partners for a fee.

Other initiatives the company announced also include a USD 1 million (~RM 4,5 m) GrabScholar programme. The programme will provide 2,000 university scholarships and bursaries annually across the eight Southeast Asian countries it operates in.
This is in addition to existing scholarship and bursary initiatives that are offered to the children of Grab’s driver, delivery, and merchant partners in Singapore and Thailand.
Present at the opening ceremony was Lawrence Wong, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.
