Authorities in Kulim, Kedah were called in early this morning to rescue a victim who was trapped in a completely wrecked Toyota Camry. It is believed that the Camry fell off a cliff at least 5 metres high near the Kulim Hi Tech industrial park.
Assistant Director of the Fire and Rescue Operations Division from the Kedah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Mohamadul Ehsan Mohd Zain confirms with Berita Harian that the incident happened around 12.30 am on 1st July 2021.
A six-member team was deployed to the scene from the Kulim Hi Tech fire station.
When the rescue team arrived at the scene, the driver was reportedly still trapped in the driver’s seat of the destroyed Toyota Camry.
After the rescue team had successfully extracted the driver, the victim was rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment for the serious injuries sustained from the crash. Meanwhile, the passenger escaped with light injuries.
