If you "seek performance-engineered models from Toyota" then read up: UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) will be introducing several GR and GR Sport models in Malaysia this year, pairing them with the organising of driving clinics, experiences, and activities to make it a full experience for owners.

Naturally this means a guessing game of what's to come. Off the top of our heads, two models pop: we expect the Toyota Corolla CrossGR Sport and the Toyota HiluxGR Sport to be among this year's headliners.
However, these are prior to any confirmation from UMWT themselves. Current models available in Malaysia include the GR Supra, and the Toyota ViosGR Sport, the latter of which is the first ASEAN-manufactured vehicle to have the red-and-black GR badge on its bootlid.

Efforts are already underway to enhance and expand on UMW Toyota Motor’s network of five dedicated GR Garages nationwide - 3 in the Klang Valley, and 1 each in the North and South regions.
