Toyota ups peace-of-mind promise – vehicle tracking, 24Seven mobile app, Loyal-T points

If you are looking for a drama-free car for you and your family, one that you don’t need to do much apart from pumping petrol and air (for the tyres), you can never go wrong with a Toyota.
The merits of Toyota’s peace-of-mind ownership experience needs little introduction but as Malaysia’s benchmark for after-sales service and customer care, Toyota is not being complacent.
Distributor UMW Toyota Motor has recently launched not one, not two, but three initiatives to retain its loyal customers.
The first two are its upgraded road assistance support and vehicle tracking security system.
Previously, both features work independent of each other but the new Toyota 24Seven Road Assist mobile app now interfaces with the Toyota Vehicle Telematics System (VTS). The latter is an optional security feature offered on many Toyota models sold here.
With VTS, the vehicle can be monitored using GPS, to be tracked via the mobile app.
In the unfortunate event that the vehicle is stolen, VTS helps in recovery of the vehicle. Also, in the event of an emergency, VTS’ Command Centre can also assist in calling for help. If an impact is detected, the Toyota 24/7 call centre will contact the customer to verify if assistance is needed.
As for the 24Seven mobile app itself, you can now track in real-time how far away help is, just like an e-hailing app. Whether it’s assistance for a dead battery, flat tyre, or even running out of fuel, just tap on the app and Toyota will send help your way.
The last of the trio is Toyota’s Loyal-T points programme. All Toyota customers stand to earn points with every vehicle purchase, vehicle servicing, purchase of spare parts, renewal of vehicle insurance as well as body and paint repairs at any Authorised Toyota Outlets nationwide.
Previously known as the Toyota Merit programme, customers can accumulate Loyal-T points to be exchanged for E-service vouchers, which they may redeem for future services.
Customers can check their Loyal-T points via the Toyota Drive mobile app, the same app they can use to schedule their service appointments.
