JNCAP tested the ADAS aspect of the Alphard and Vellfire and awarded the duo with the “ASV +++” score, as the luxury MPVs from Toyota scored full points (141 out of 141).

The scoring takes into account these criteria:

  • Autonomous Emergency Braking
  • Autonomous Emergency Braking (Pedestrian)
  • Lane Keep Assist
  • Reverse camera system
  • Headlights
  • Pedal Misoperation control

Furthermore, the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire scored the maximum of 5 stars in the crash test assessment. The only part where the Alphard and Vellfire lost points was the seat belt reminder – it does not feature seat belt reminder for the rear seats, only the front.

As for Malaysia, units brought in by UMW Toyota Motor are fitted, as standard, with the Toyota Safety Sense ADAS suite.
